Ocean Economies Southern Africa Conference in Durban

The Intelligence Transfer Centre to host the Ocean Economies Southern Africa Conference in Durban

Oceanic health is essential to our existence. It is necessary that we encourage and declare marine protected areas and not focus solely on the economic value of our oceans. With these needs in mind, the Intelligence Transfer Centre is proud to host the Annual Ocean Economies Southern Africa Conference to be held on 21 & 22 August, Durban Country Club.

We will showcase a number of speakers, including but not limited to:

  • Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA),
  • Nosipho Sithole – Chief Executive of Transnet Port Terminals (TPT)
  • Sobantu Tilayi – Chief Operations Officer of the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA)
  • Prof. Malek Pourzanjani – Chief Executive Officer of the South African International Maritime Institute (SAIMI)
  • Lukas Kufuna – Walvis Bay Port Captain at the Namibian Ports Authority (NAMPORT).

Our distinguished faculty of speakers will focus on topics such as; SA Ports efficiency and activities, achieving service delivery through Operation Phakisa, boosting tourism, satellite technology management of natural resources and future ocean economies and possible financial investments, amongst other pertinent issues.

With a faculty of distinguished speakers from key institutions, this conference is not to be missed. ITC is proud to welcome you to the Ocean Economies Southern Africa Conference. Register now and form part of the dialogue of how SA can unlock oceans potential.
